Emergency Plumber in Parkfairfax, Alexandria, VA
Plumbing repair for Parkfairfax's brick townhouse-style condominiums between Quaker Lane and Four Mile Run, with 24/7 emergency dispatch.
If You Have a Burst Pipe or Active Leak
Parkfairfax homes are condominiums with shared walls, so a leak can affect the unit below or beside yours. Here is what to do while help is on the way.
Shut Off Your Unit's Valve
Close the shutoff that serves your unit first. If you cannot find it or the water keeps coming, contact the association's emergency line as well.
Kill Power to Wet Areas
Turn off the circuits for the wet rooms if you can reach the panel safely.
Warn the Neighbors
Tell the unit below and beside you, because water can follow walls and floors out of sight.
Call Our 24/7 Line
Emergency dispatch is answered around the clock, including nights when the association office is closed.
Plumbing in Parkfairfax, Alexandria
Parkfairfax is a planned residential community in northwestern Alexandria, near the Arlington County line. It is bounded by Quaker Lane, Interstate 395, Beverley Drive, Wellington Road, Gunston Road, Valley Drive, Glebe Road, and Four Mile Run. Metropolitan Life Insurance Company built it between 1941 and 1943 to ease wartime housing shortages.
The community has 285 buildings with 1,684 units on about 132 acres. The units are two-level townhouse-style condominiums and one-level flats in Colonial Revival buildings of brick, terra cotta tile, wood, and concrete. Buildings cover only about one-tenth of the land, and the rest is woodland, open space, and glens, with winding streets and four large cul-de-sacs.
Parkfairfax began as rental housing and was sold as condominiums between 1977 and 1979. It was listed on the Virginia Landmarks Register in 1998 and the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. The community has its own unit owners association.
What Plumbing Calls Look Like Here
Shared Walls and Floors
Units sit beside and above each other, so a failed supply line or an overflow in one unit can reach another. Fast shutoff and a clear record of where the water started matter.
Who Owns Which Pipe
In a condominium, the association's documents decide which pipes belong to the owner and which are part of the common system. Read them before you assume who pays.
Two Unit Types
Two-level townhouse-style units and one-level flats are laid out differently, so the water heater and shutoff are not in the same place in every unit.
A Historic Setting
Parkfairfax is a listed historic district, so check your condominium documents before planning exterior vents or visible changes. Repairs to existing fixtures inside the unit are routine.
